Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant 1–2 days per week — Colchester Hospital
Are you a Consultant in Obs & Gynae with antenatal medicine skills and an interest in perinatal mental health?
We’re seeking a senior clinician to join the maternity team at Colchester Hospital on a locum basis to provide antenatal care and mental health support
Role
- Location: Colchester Hospital, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
- Duration: 3 months
- Hours: 1–2 days per week 09:00 - 17:00
- Start: Immediate / by agreement
Key responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level antenatal assessment and management for complex and high-risk pregnancies.
- Lead or support maternity triage and outpatient antenatal clinics.
- Assess and manage perinatal mental health concerns and coordinate care with perinatal psychiatry
About you
- Significant experience in antenatal medicine and high-risk obstetrics
- Demonstrable experience or interest in perinatal mental health and collaborative working with mental health services
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication skills, and ability to work autonomously
- Flexible and reliable for the agreed 1–2 days per week
- Desirable: Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
