We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sonographer to join a modern and growing diagnostic imaging service in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a patient-focused team delivering high-quality ultrasound services within a well-supported clinical environment. As a Sonographer, you will play a key role in delivering safe, accurate and patient-centred diagnostic ultrasound examinations across a broad range of referrals. Working independently and alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to maintaining exceptional clinical standards while helping to shape and develop the service. This position offers the chance to work within a quality-driven environment that values clinical excellence, continuous improvement and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations to a consistently high standard
- Clinically assess and justify referrals in line with professional and departmental guidelines
- Deliver outstanding patient care, ensuring dignity, privacy and reassurance throughout the patient journey
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to support effective patient management
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance programmes, governance standards and best practice guidelines
- Contribute to audit, peer review, service development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and radiology records
- Support the delivery of safe, effective and efficient imaging services
- HCPC or RCT Registered Sonographer
- Postgraduate Ultrasound Qualification (DMU, PgCert or PgDip Ultrasound)
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualified ultrasound experience within an acute healthcare setting
- Experience performing a broad range of ultrasound examinations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence
