Are you an experienced Radiology leader looking for a role where you can genuinely shape service delivery, lead from the front, and make a visible impact within a high-performing private hospital setting? We are supporting a leading private hospital in Bristol with the appointment of a Radiology Manager to lead an established Diagnostic Imaging Department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and clinically credible imaging professional to step into a hands-on leadership role, combining operational oversight, clinical visibility, and service development within a well-supported hospital environment.

As Radiology Manager, you will provide both clinical and operational leadership across the Diagnostic Imaging Department, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality imaging services. This is a key leadership post where you will oversee day-to-day departmental operations, support and develop the team, maintain compliance and governance standards, and contribute to the wider strategic goals of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing visible day-to-day leadership within the Radiology Department
  • Supporting, supervising and developing Radiographers and imaging staff
  • Leading on patient safety, quality improvement and service excellence
  • Overseeing staffing levels, rotas and workforce planning
  • Monitoring departmental performance and KPIs
  • Working closely with senior hospital leadership teams
  • Leading audits and quality assurance processes
  • Investigating incidents, complaints and patient safety concerns
  • Maintaining departmental policies and standard operating procedures
  • Leading, motivating and developing the Radiology team
  • Conducting appraisals, performance reviews and supervision
  • Developing training and CPD opportunities for staff
  • Supporting student Radiographers and placement programmes

Financial Strategic Responsibilities

  • Monitoring staffing and operational costs
  • Supporting business planning and service development
  • Contributing to broader hospital objectives

Qualifications

  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent)
  • Significant post-registration Radiography experience
  • Experience managing staff and operational performance
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality standards
  • Previous experience as a Radiology Manager
  • Private healthcare experience
  • Budget and business performance management experience
