MedicsPro are recruiting for an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to support an NHS Trust with ongoing locum requirements from ASAP until 28th November with potential to extend. This role involves covering a mixture of elective theatre lists across multiple specialties, with a minimum commitment of 4 days per week available. There is also flexibility to undertake additional ad hoc sessions, subject to service requirements and availability.
Candidates must hold GMC registration with a licence to practise and have recent UK NHS experience working at Consultant level in Anaesthetics.
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthetics, or eligible status
- Recent NHS experience working as a Consultant Anaesthetist
- Proven experience supporting elective theatre activity
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary theatre environment
- Right to work in the UK
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anaesthetic cover for elective theatre lists across multiple specialties
- Undertake pre-operative assessment and peri-operative patient management
- Deliver safe anaesthetic care in accordance with NHS and departmental protocols
- Support theatre efficiency and patient flow throughout operating sessions
- Manage post-operative anaesthetic care and recovery planning
- Work collaboratively with surgical, theatre and recovery teams

- Monday to Friday, 07:30-18:00
- Additional ad hoc sessions available, subject to availability
