Location: Rochdale

Salary: ÂŁ40,000 - ÂŁ50,000 per annum (Once Ofsted Registered)

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week including some evenings/weekends as required)

Start Date: Upon successful Ofsted registration of the homes

Reports to: Responsible Individual / Director

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the launch and ongoing operation of our new Ofsted-registered Childrens Homes in Rochdale. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing organisation from the beginning shaping high‑quality residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The successful role in securing Ofsted registration and will lead the homes to deliver outstanding care support and positive outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure the homes are fully compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership and management of the homes creating a nurturing and safe environment for young people.
  • Develop and maintain individualised care plans ensuring that each child’s needs, rights and dignity are prioritised.
  • Oversee safeguarding procedures and ensure all staff are fully trained and compliant.
  • Recruit, train and manage a high‑performing team fostering a positive and supportive working culture.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including local authorities, social workers, schools and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain robust systems for monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of care.
  • Manage budgets, rotas, risk assessments and operational policies to ensure the efficient running of the homes.
  • Ensure the homes achieve and maintain a minimum Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a residential childcare setting within the past 5 years.
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management role within a children’s home.
  • Sound knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Ability to be registered with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
  • Desirable: Proven experience in managing children’s homes.
