Job Title: Qualified Social Worker (Fostering)
Location: Dorchester (Dorset)
Contract Type: Temporary, FT. 37 hours
About the Role
You will be joining a well-structured and organised team of around 30 individuals who are looking to grow the staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team.
The team are involved in Mainstream assessment and post approval support. Kinship assessments (including Reg 24/Fostering/Special guardianship). Supported Lodgings assessment and support. Staying Put Run the Mockingbird model.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Enhanced DBS for Children’s and Adults (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- SWE (HCPC) Registered
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
- 3 years post qualified experience within the UK
- Have access to a car and be willing to travel
- Experience in fostering recruitment related activity.
- Experience in recruiting and assessing foster carers, completing Form F assessments and taking prospective carers to Fostering Panel.
- Demonstrable experience of working within the framework of the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations 2010, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards and other relevant legislation, Statutory guidance, Standards and Procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of relevant theoretical frameworks, practice models, research findings and the application of psychological and human development theories.
£500 welcome bonus (paid after 12 weeks) T&C’s apply, Dorset Council has ample onsite parking, with the opportunity for role progression and training for both permanent and temporary staff within the authority as well as competitive rate of pay.
