The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
We have an amazing opportunity for an Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Sandwell and grow in knowledge and experience alongside our local and extended team of clinicians. ENPs who can assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients, often in the ‘Minors’ area of the department. They will work within guidelines agreed with the clinical lead of an emergency department.
Education / Qualifications
- Must have one of the following:
- Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice
- HEE ACP Digital Badge / RCN credentialing
- Level 6 / 7 qualification in Minor Illness & Level 6 / 7 qualification in Minor Injury
- Level 6 / 7 qualification specific to the role i.e., Urgent and Emergency Care Prescribing certificate (V300)
- IRMER training (every 5 years)
- Interpretation of images (Red-Dot course) (every 5 years)
- Plastering
- Suturing
- Wound assessment and management
The role might involve:
- Patient assessment, including pain assessment and management
- Reading and assessing X-rays
- Diagnosing and treating minor injuries or illnesses in an emergency care setting
- Diagnosing problems such as sprains, strains, cuts and bites, giving medication (orally or via injection), and treating minor injuries including burns and wounds
- Evidence of completion of V300 prescribing course is also desirable
- To feel confident being the first point of contact to treat, refer and formulate a discharge plan
We’re looking for:
- First Level registered Nurse (NMC, ECP)
- Satisfactory DBS clearance
- Ability to triage (desirable)
- Understanding of autonomous practice within a minor illness / urgent care centre and the roles that deliver this
