Main purpose of the job
To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care, with specific reference to renal disease treatment and education according to the Scope of Practice and Renal Care policies and standard procedures in an acute setting in all relevant hospital and ICU wards.
Key responsibility areas
- Coordinate acute renal process within the acute setting
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
- Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
- Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
- Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
- Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
Required Education
Degree / Diploma in Clinical Technology (Nephrology)
Required Experience
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2-3 years post-registration experience in an acute renal environment; or Clinical technologist (Nephrology) registered with the HPCSA with a minimum of 2-3 years Dialysis experience
- Registered Nurse with SANC with post-registration renal qualification Or Clinical technologist (Nephrology) registered with the HPCSA will be advantageous
