Key Responsibilities
- Scope, write, edit, produce and publish organic and paid‑for social media content to enhance the agency’s reputation and promote its contributions to public health and science nationally and globally.
- Manage the agency’s social media channels and support communications, media and marketing campaigns, using these channels to target, engage and communicate to audiences effectively.
- Plan and create content tailored to each platform, ensuring accessibility, usability and engagement for proactive announcements and reactive media handling.
- Advise staff and senior leaders on effective organic and paid‑for social media approaches, including for the executive committee and chief executive.
- Identify and collaborate with key influencers, patients, public stakeholders, the healthcare system and government partners to amplify messaging.
- Work with the visual and creative content lead to produce or commission products such as video, infographics, podcasts, live chats, broadcasts, blogs and Tweets.
- Use data and analytics to test and learn, optimising content for audiences.
Qualifications
- Experience developing, executing and evaluating organic and paid‑for social media activity, and using results to inform business decisions.
- Good knowledge and experience working with traditional media in a busy press office and ability to react to fast‑breaking news.
- Excellent written, social media engagement and oral communication skills, with a strong understanding of creating interesting, accessible content.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, influence relationships with influencers, journalists and senior managers, and handle conflict and challenge calmly.
