About the ABRHP:

The ABRHP advises the Licensing Authority on the safety and quality of homeopathic medicines for human use when a certificate of registration has been granted or applied for, and on the indication for use within the UK homeopathic tradition when a homeopathic marketing authorisation has been granted or applied for.

Main duties of the job:

The Chair of the ABRHP must be able to demonstrate the qualities, skills and experience to meet all the essential criteria for appointment.

Person Specification:

  • Be medically qualified and have a strong and current scientific background.
  • Demonstrate an impartial perspective on the use of homeopathy and have an understanding of the importance of regulation of homeopathic medicines.
  • Have previous or current experience of high‑level committee membership nationally or internationally.
  • Be a skilled communicator.
  • Be able to assimilate complex scientific information at short notice, and provide formal and informal advice to the MHRA between meetings when required.
  • Be prepared to relinquish all personal and non‑personal interests of a financial nature in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Be recognised by their peers as leaders in their field and/or be Fellows of the relevant Royal Colleges.
  • Knowledge of homeopathy would be an advantage but not essential.
