We are seeking a Benefit Risk Evaluation Assessor – Decontamination & Infection Control to join our Benefit Risk Evaluation I Team within the Safety & Surveillance group. This full‐time role is permanent and based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. A flexible hybrid working arrangement is in place, with a minimum of eight days per month on site and up to twelve days per month depending on business needs.
What's the Role?
The assessor will provide technical and regulatory expertise on sterilisation matters, collaborating with other benefit risk assessors. The role involves leading the assessment of sterilisation for clinical investigations and, where appropriate, developing guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in meetings and work programmes to assess and investigate safety signals involving sterilisation, ensuring assessments are up to date and quality is maintained.
- Provide specialist technical advice and support on sterilisation to colleagues and senior officials to meet business needs and targets.
- Undertake technical reviews of sterilisation issues for new and emerging safety signals or data, making recommendations for actions to protect patients.
- Commit to continuous development in the area of sterilisation.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in life sciences, health care, or engineering (e.g., medical engineering, toxicology, material science, or a healthcare qualification) with relevant experience in healthcare, medical device manufacturing, regulatory environment, or health data science.
- Knowledge or practical experience of medical devices.
- Experience critically analysing complex clinical, scientific, or technical information under pressure and making recommendations or decisions to protect patient safety/public health, even when evidence is unclear, and implementing appropriate risk mitigation actions.
- Demonstrated ability to write well‐structured, concise reports to support decision making and inform stakeholders.
- Awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks.
Person Specification & Experience Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a related discipline (decontamination sciences, physical sciences, biological sciences, pharmacy, engineering, or a relevant healthcare qualification).
- Previous relevant experience such as healthcare, medical device or medicinal product industry, or regulatory environment.
