Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Business Partner to join our Digital & Service Design team within the Digital & Technology group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU or South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.
The Digital and Technology Group (DTG) lies at the heart of the Agency and is responsible for delivering an optimised IT infrastructure and maximising the secure use of data to enable our scientists, inspectors, and the rest of the organisation to deliver world class services which can improve outcomes for patients and the general public. The group was essential in the race to approve COVID-19 vaccines in 2020 and in supporting the UK to set up its own medicines and devices approvals systems following our exit from the EU. Within DTG, the Digital & Service Design Group (D&SDG) provides a number of services through its practice-based model including user research, service design, business analysis, digital change management and product management. D&SDG owns the customer experience for the division and is building its in-house capabilities around Digital Product Management and User Centred Design.
Job Description
What’s the role?
This is a high-profile role supporting the Senior Business Partner, working with Service Owners, stakeholders and subject matter experts, to understand and document business opportunities and requirements aligned with overall Agency and divisional business needs.
The post holder would play a supporting role for the group’s front door process to manage incoming demand. The role works alongside product managers, business analysts, user centred design practitioners, delivery managers, strategy and architecture practitioners and an in-house team of engineers, to assess and prioritise incoming digital and technology requests. You will play a role in understanding the scale of new requirements and the level of support that may be needed. You will operate alongside key representatives of DTG to ensure decisions are made in the round, focussed on ensuring priorities are properly assessed against agreed criteria and balancing known constraints with the needs of stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as an assistant to the senior level Business Partner, supporting them in being a trusted advisor to business areas.
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge and insight into the business and support work to assess and analyse business opportunities, routinely aligning these with wider organisational objectives.
  • Support decision-making and strategy development, exploiting opportunities, identifying dependencies, and using your experience to avoid duplication and common issues.
  • Support the Senior Business Partner in demand management, supporting and advising internal stakeholders, assisting and facilitating throughout the governance process.
  • Provide secretarial support to DTG Front Door Working Group and Review meetings, preparing papers, logging and monitoring actions and preparing meeting minutes.

Person specification
Our Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in Relationship Management, able to quickly build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation
  • Ability to identify, analyse and think of new ways to ensure business and customer satisfaction
  • Experience of agile practices, determining the right approach and acting as a recognised advocate
  • Evidence of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills including influencing, communicating technical information to a non-technical audience and building relationships

Alongside your salary of £44,825, Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency contributes £12,985 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Find out what benefits a Civil Service Pension provides.
