Medichecks Group is a UK healthcare group spanning diagnostics, treatment businesses, digital platforms and pharmacy. The Group includes Medichecks, Leger Clinic, My Menopause Centre and Lift Pharmacy. Lift Pharmacy is the Group’s GPhC-registered distance selling pharmacy. It is becoming operational to support the treatment businesses and to help create a more joined-up pathway from diagnostics to treatment to dispensing.
This is a senior pharmacy leadership role at an important stage in Lift Pharmacy’s development. The preferred appointment is a Superintendent Pharmacist who can also bring operational experience of building or running a digital pharmacy service, but strong Superintendent Pharmacists without that wider operational background will also be considered.
The Purpose Of The Role
To provide safe pharmacy leadership for Lift Pharmacy and to build a reliable, scalable operation that supports the Group’s treatment businesses. The role also includes supporting safe prescribing pathways, clinician trust and the use of pharmacist prescribers where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Superintendent Pharmacist Leadership
- Act as Superintendent Pharmacist for Lift Pharmacy.
- Maintain GPhC and legal compliance.
- Own SOPs, audits, incidents and governance.
- Keep the pharmacy inspection ready.
- Shape processes and services as the pharmacy grows.
- Pharmacy Operations And Service Delivery
- Lead day-to-day pharmacy operations.
- Oversee dispensing, stock, procurement and fulfilment.
- Ensure safe and reliable service levels.
- Build pharmacy KPIs and reporting.
- Support integration with Group patient treatment pathways.
- Scalable Prescribing Support
- Help develop safe prescribing pathways.
- Support recruitment of pharmacist prescribers.
- Build trust with doctors, ANPs and clinicians.
- Contribute to protocols and monitoring rules.
- Weight Management And New Pathways
- Support the weight management service line.
- Help design scalable online prescribing workflows.
- Ensure new pathways are safe and workable.
- Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, clinicians, product and engineering.
- Contribute to workflow and system design.
- Connect pharmacy, treatment and commercial priorities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a GPhC-registered pharmacist who can act as Superintendent Pharmacist and who combines strong governance instincts with practical operational judgement. The preferred candidate will also have experience of running or scaling an online or digitally enabled pharmacy.
Essential Criteria
- UK-qualified pharmacist with current GPhC registration and suitability to act as Superintendent Pharmacist.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulation, governance and online pharmacy practice.
- Experience writing SOPs, risk assessments and audit frameworks.
- Strong judgement, communication and organisational skills.
- Pragmatic, collaborative and safety-focused approach.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience running or scaling an online, digital or private pharmacy.
- Experience in weight management or online prescribing pathways.
- Experience with prescribing pharmacists.
- Commercial and operational awareness.
- Experience in a fast-growing healthcare business.
