Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior care professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a care home.
You will play a key role in leading the team, maintaining high standards of care and compliance, and ensuring residents receive an exceptional standard of support and wellbeing.
The Role
As Registered Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, leadership and resident wellbeing are consistently maintained.
Your responsibilities will include
- Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the home.
- Providing strong, visible leadership to the care and wider home team.
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered in line with residents' individual needs, preferences and wishes.
- Maintaining full compliance with
CQC regulations, legislation, policies and best practice .
- Leading on quality assurance, audits and continuous improvement across the home.
- Monitoring care plans, risk assessments, medication processes and care documentation.
- Ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed and residents' dignity, safety and wellbeing remain a priority.
- Recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing staff to create a motivated and effective team.
- Managing staff performance, training and development.
- Maintaining strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
- Managing occupancy, referrals and admissions where required.
- Supporting effective budget management and ensuring resources are used appropriately.
- Responding proactively to feedback, complaints and concerns.
- Preparing for and managing inspections, ensuring the home is consistently inspection-ready.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive and welcoming culture throughout the home.
- Ensuring the home provides a safe, comfortable and homely environment for residents and staff.
- Acting as an ambassador for the home and its values within the local community.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have
- Previous experience managing or deputy managing a residential care home for older people.
- A strong understanding of
CQC requirements, care legislation and regulatory compliance .
- A relevant
Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care , or a willingness to work towards this where appropriate.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing a multidisciplinary care team.
- Experience with audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage challenging situations confidently and professionally.
- A commercial and operational understanding of running a care home.
- A caring, positive and proactive approach.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- A genuine commitment to promoting residents' dignity, independence and wellbeing.
- The ability to build positive relationships with residents, relatives, staff and external professionals.
