The Medical Lab Technician performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
- Operating automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Performing quality control and assurance procedures.
- Recording lab results in specified system.
- Following all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
Education: Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Experience: At least three years of clinical experience.
Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent.
Note: This is a Career Ladder Position. Internal candidates are required to submit and meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements. External candidates are required to complete Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements within 6 months in position.
