Medical Solicitors is a dedicated clinical negligence law firm based in Sheffield, Hull and York. We have an outstanding and friendly team who are renowned for their expertise in the field of Clinical Negligence. Managing Director, Caroline Moore was recognised by Sheffield Law Society as Partner of the Year in 2022 and in 2023 Medical Solicitors as Clinical Negligence Team of the Year. The firm has grown steadily, and securely, and it is now in its 16th year of practice. Medical Solicitors has reached a stage of growth whereby we now need someone to join us as our in-house Proclaim and M.I. Developer. We are looking for someone dedicated to our cause, who will grow to know our team, understand our needs and work constructively with us to achieve rewarding results.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be primarily responsible for the development and day-to-day administration of the Proclaim case management and task server systems, as well as M.I. Warehouse and development of Power B.I. interfaces to provide real-time information to management and fee-earners. This will involve collaborating with our team of lawyers and management in-house, so you will need the ability to work confidently with non-technical teams.
We are looking for someone who wants to take on the responsibility of designing long-lasting reliable solutions; someone with a problem-solving mindset that prioritises long-term fixes. The role will also involve acting as general I.T. liaison between third parties, such as Access Legal, our I.T. Services Team (which is fully outsourced) and others. Responsibilities:
- Creating new case types, database fields and correspondents.
- Screen design and intelligence.
- Building specific functions within Proclaim using maths fields and tests.
- Developing workflow maintenance including the creation of linked actions, forms, secure documents, and master documents.
- Design and implementation of auto routines.
- Import/Export routines.
- Task server configuration, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Design and implementation of Power B.I. interfaces.
Personal Specification:
Essential:
- A track record of scoping project work and setting realistic expectations before development begins.
- Up to and including Proclaim Technical Level 4 training attended or ability to demonstrate equivalent practical experience of developing within Proclaim.
- Extensive, demonstrable experience in a similar Proclaim development role.
- Familiarity with Proclaim v3.5, as well as v4.0 and its additional features.
- Advanced Report training or equivalent practical experience of designing, amending and scheduling reports.
- Understanding of web services and multi-platform system interactions.
- Knowledge of using and developing Proclaim MI Warehouse.
Desirable:
- Experience of design and execution of Macros.
- Experience of Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Costs cases.
- Power B.I. experience or at least confidence to take this on board in the role.
- Knowledge of SQL (design and execution of queries) or similar database languages and ASP, PHP or similar for Web interfacing.
- HTML knowledge.
- Understanding of web services and multi-platform system interactions.
- Knowledge of using and developing Proclaim MI Warehouse.
