We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our People Division and play a pivotal role in delivering a seamless, compliant, and colleague‑focused payroll service across our global organisation. This position goes beyond processing payroll. You’ll act as a trusted expert, ensuring payroll operations are delivered with precision while continuously improving processes, supporting business change, and navigating the complexities of multi‑jurisdictional legislation. Working closely with People and Finance teams, you’ll contribute to a high‑performing environment where accuracy, efficiency, and colleague experience are at the forefront.

As our new Payroll Specialist, you will also:

  • Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Plan and coordinate payroll cycles, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are aligned.
  • Act as the main point of contact for payroll queries, resolving issues efficiently and within SLAs.
  • Ensure all statutory and third‑party payments (including HMRC) are processed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with People and Finance teams to maintain data accuracy and support financial reporting and controls.
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation, ensuring processes remain compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, streamline processes, and enhance the overall colleague experience.

We are looking for:

  • Significant experience delivering end‑to‑end payroll within a large, complex organisation, including exposure to international payroll environments.
  • Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP) and wider employment law.
  • Proven ability to manage payroll operations independently, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel and payroll systems experience, with strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across People, Finance, and the wider business.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel you do not match 100% of the technical requirements. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and strive to create a work environment which ensures everyone can be heard.

In return, we can offer you:

  • Discretionary on‑target bonus of 10%. Up to a max 20% based on performance.
  • 11% pension contribution (3% from you, 8% from us – optional additional matched 3% contributions, e.g. 6% from you, 11% from us).
  • 25 days annual leave. Flexible public holidays and option to buy/sell additional leave.
  • Private Medical Cover.
  • Car Salary Sacrifice scheme.
  • 6x salary death in service.
  • Holistic health and wellbeing support package.
  • A truly flexible hybrid‑working arrangement.
  • A culture that promotes inclusivity, wellbeing and rewards hard work.
