Overview

Salary: Β£35,000pa

Location: We work across England, with offices currently in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Southport. We offer hybrid and flexible working practices, balancing working from home with time in modern offices for collaboration and socialising.

Hours: 35hrs/PW (Hybrid – 2 days in the office a week, negotiable if needed)

Are you an experienced nurse looking to apply your clinical expertise in a dynamic and rewarding legal setting? Medical Law Services is seeking a dedicated Nurse Analyst to join our specialist team.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing medical records and any other documentation relevant to the case
  • Sorting and categorisation of medical records
  • Preparation of Opinion of Merit (OOM) and chronology to assist the legal team with investigations and assessment of prospects, including knowledge of breach of duty and causation
  • Preparing light/selective focused, date-ranged, full and updated paginations in paperless format, utilising suitable IT programmes, including working with evolving AI tools
  • Undertaking necessary research to understand the medico-legal elements of the case, including relevant professional guidelines
  • Good understanding of GDPR to identify issues within the medical records
  • Progression towards competing Risk Assessments

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in NHS practice / clinical setting as a registered nurse
  • Basic understanding of medical records
  • High level of accuracy in work
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new environments
  • Analytical skills and clear communication
  • Ability to work within a team (remote and in person)
  • Highly motivated, organized, and proactive; able to work under pressure
  • Working knowledge of audits and interpreting findings to improve practice

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools and other software (e.g., Adobe)
