We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Radiology Nursing Team. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing a wide range of diagnostic procedures.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver safe, effective and evidence-based nursing care throughout the patient journey
- Support radiologists, radiographers and sonographers during interventional procedures
- Undertake patient assessment, preparation and post-procedure monitoring
- Administer and monitor medications in line with Trust policy and NMC standards
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives and colleagues
- Recognise and escalate clinical concerns, incidents or risks appropriately
- Support and supervise students, trainees and new staff where appropriate
- Contribute to audits, service improvement and the learning environment
- Maintain professional development and NMC revalidation requirements
About You
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
- Experience preparing patients and equipment for sterile or interventional procedures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamworking skills
- Able to work independently and under pressure
- Flexible, organised and patient focused
- Experience working within a Radiology or procedural environment
- Evidence of continued professional development
