We are looking for someone with specific experience in securing NHS contracts for private clinics to join our team in Oldham on a hybrid basis as a Business Development Director. The Director of Business Development would also be leading growth initiatives by identifying new market opportunities in mental health and rehabilitation services, building strategic partnerships, and expanding referral networks.

Responsibilities

  • Executing business plans, managing a pipeline of prospects
  • Overseeing lead generation activities, and guiding contract negotiations with commissioners, partners, and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating with clinical and operational teams to align services with market needs, preparing business proposals and presentations, and monitoring performance against growth targets
  • Representing Ark Clinics at industry events
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of sector trends, and reporting regularly on progress to the senior leadership team

Qualifications

  • Proven skills in new business development and lead generation, with the ability to build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Demonstrated capability in NHS contract negotiation, with a track record of securing favorable agreements and managing commercial risk
  • Experience in business planning, including market analysis, forecasting, and developing go-to-market strategies
  • Strong account management skills, including relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and retention of key partners
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, KPIs, and performance dashboards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are an advantage
  • Ability to work on-site in Oldham and travel as needed for meetings, events, and partner visits
