As part of the Serviceplan Group, Mediaplus UK is an independent media planning & buying agency which was founded in 1982 with a mission to shake up a network-dominated industry. Over 40 years on and we are still proudly independent, however, we have grown in size with over 160 employees across 3 UK offices in London, Manchester and Birmingham, as well as having our own behavioural consultancy, Behave. We are the only media agency built on the principles of behavioural science. The role will assist and learn from a number of key teams in order to help us understand and grow our offering and revenue, improve processes and develop new products and insight.
What you'll do:
- Build Technical Skills: Master SQL, BI tools (Tableau), and Python through real-world projects and mentorship.
- Develop Data Expertise: Become proficient in marketing measurement frameworks, attribution methodologies, and advertising technology.
- Ensure Data Quality: Validate, reconcile, and assure quality across marketing datasets, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Drive Automation and AI: Identify and implement process improvements, automation and AI to increase efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with clients and internal stakeholders on technology integrations and custom solutions.
- Create Impact: Deliver both commercial and technical documentation, dashboards, and insights that drive business decisions.
- Stay Current: Gain exposure to cloud computing, modern data infrastructure, and AI technologies.
- Develop Professionally: Work in an Agile environment, study for industry-recognized qualifications, and grow under expert guidance.
The Team:
The Data team operates across the whole agency, from technology integrations to data insight and reporting. We consult and drive efficiencies and automation across all aspects of the media cycle - planning, activating and optimising. We work with data from clients, specialist partners and from our own media to give insights to our clients and internal teams.
What we are looking for:
- Coding Experience: 1-3 years of experience with SQL. Experience with other programming languages such as Python are advantageous.
- BI Tools: 1-3 years of experience with BI Tools. Preferably Tableau, but other tools such as Power BI and Looker Studio are also welcome.
- Curiosity & Problem-Solving: A genuine desire to understand how things work and solve complex challenges.
- Strong Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and contribute to meaningful process improvements.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data validation, documentation, and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Clear, timely communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Relevant Degree: A numerical background in technology, mathematics, science, engineering, economics, computer science, or related discipline.
- Data Pipelines: Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and API connections.
- Measurement & Analytics: Experience with analytical techniques like forecasting, regression, and correlation.
- Marketing, AI or Analytics Interest: Enthusiasm for learning about marketing data, analytics, AI and advertising technology.
- Agile Experience: Previous exposure to Agile methodologies or project management practices.
