The role involves overseeing end-to-end finance operations, carrying out financial planning and analysis, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and making improvements to procedures and controls. This is a sole finance position suitable for someone who thrives working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) ledgers
  • Booking approved purchase invoices and reconciling production costs back to Salesforce/P&L
  • Issuing of sales invoices on a weekly basis
  • Cash flow management and credit control
  • Assistance with commission calculations for the sales team
  • Calculating Managing Director’s quarterly commission and sending to the Board for approval
  • Monthly bank reconciliation and revenue reconciliation
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of Balance Sheet on a monthly basis
  • Month-End and analysis: ensuring all journals for the reporting period are booked in the accounting system
  • Completing reporting packs for Board approval and investigating any differences
  • Inter-company reconciliation and reporting
  • Monthly payroll processing and payment
  • Pension: onboarding new employees to the company’s pension scheme and uploading monthly files for payment
  • Filing, submission and payment of relevant taxes (PAYE, VAT, P11D & corporation tax)
  • Leading the annual external audit and assisting auditors with any queries in a timely manner
  • Assisting Managing Director with the maintenance of the P&L and supporting with any ad-hoc tasks

Experience & skills required:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in accounting & finance
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems
  • Strong attention to detail and investigative nature
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience using Salesforce is desirable
  • Experience working in a similar industry is desirable
