Mediaperformances is an innovative retail media agency reshaping the industry by combining shopper marketing expertise with advanced technologies. We activate data-driven media solutions that engage consumers throughout the purchasing journey, delivering stronger performance for brands, more qualified traffic for retailers, and added value for customers.

As a member of French Tech Grand Paris and Retail Tech, Mediaperformances partners with major retail groups including Carrefour, Auchan, E. Leclerc, Intermarché, U and Monoprix. The company works with more than 100 FMCG and non-food advertisers, including Danone, Nestlé, Unilever, Mondelez, Coca-Cola, Fleury Michon, Colgate and HP. We operate in-store retail media networks across major retail chains in France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland, combining DOOH screens, e-paper solutions and printed media. Through scalable, data-driven media programmes, we help leading retailers monetise their physical store estate while creating impactful opportunities for brands and agencies.

The UK is a strategic priority market for Mediaperformances. We are at the beginning of our in-store retail media journey with our UK retail partners, and the Country Manager UK will be the founding commercial and operational leader on the ground.

Social Impact

Mediaperformances is committed to responsible media. It has been the first and only advertising sales house in France to be B Corp certified since July 2021 and was certified Great Place to Work in 2023 for the fifth consecutive year. Its purpose is to “encourage more responsible consumption, accessible to all, notably through our media”. This commitment is expressed through three programmes: 1% for Label, which builds awareness and understanding of selected labels via DOOH; For Good, which provides additional DOOH exposure for responsible brands based on defined criteria; and 1% for Care, which supports social engagement and associations. Mediaperformances measures the carbon impact of its campaigns and fully offsets campaign-related emissions.

The Role

This is a greenfield remit. You will own the full P&L for the UK market from day one — building the commercial pipeline, structuring the local team, and adapting Mediaperformances' proven European playbook to the UK retail media context. You will report directly to the International Director and work closely with pan-European commercial, technology and operations teams. You will be the single point of accountability for revenue, client relationships, partner delivery and market development in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Development
    • Lead commercial negotiations with UK retail partners
    • Own and drive UK media revenue against annual and multi-year targets aligned with Minimum Guarantee (MG) and revenue-share structures
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of retail and brand-side opportunities
    • Build pricing strategies and media package structures suited to the UK market
  • Client & Partner Management
    • Serve as the primary relationship owner for key UK retail partners
    • Manage ongoing QBRs, performance reviews and strategic planning sessions with retailers
    • Coordinate with European technology and operations teams to ensure seamless programme delivery
    • Act as the in-market escalation point for operational and contractual issues
  • Team Building
    • Recruit, onboard and lead the initial UK team, defining roles, incentive structures and ways of working
    • Set a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, transparency and commercial rigour
    • Work closely with Paris HQ on headcount planning and budget allocation as the UK business scales
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy
    • Map the UK retail media landscape, identifying white space, competitor positioning and differentiation opportunities
    • Feed market insights back to the European leadership team to inform product and commercial strategy
    • Represent Mediaperformances at UK industry events, trade bodies and media owner forums

  • Travel: Approx. 20–30% (European HQ UK retailer sites)

Candidate Profile

  • Essential 5–8 years of experience in retail media, out-of-home (OOH/DOOH) media or a closely adjacent field (e.g. shopper marketing, media sales or retail technology)
  • Demonstrated track record of commercial delivery, including revenue growth, new business wins or contract negotiation in a B2B environment
  • Experience working with, or alongside, major UK retailers in DIY, grocery or general merchandise
  • Comfortable operating in a scale-up or entrepreneurial environment where structure is built, not inherited
  • Strong analytical grounding, with the ability to interrogate media models, CPM logic, fill rates and P&L dynamics
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder, credible at senior retailer level
  • Highly Desirable
  • Direct experience in in-store digital media
