Role Description
The Global Compliance Manager (GCM) role is within the Mediabrands Global Compliance Team and the core aims of this team are as follows:
- Drive process and accountability for the transparent management and reporting of client related practices and agency contractual and commercial obligations across all markets.
- Clearly understand and communicate the obligations of global client contracts with respect to our global media operations.
- Ensure we manage client financial contract compliance audits consistently and professionally.
The ultimate objective being to protect revenue and reputation by ensuring our operations are compatible with our client contractual obligations. The GCM role is primarily responsible for supporting compliance with the company’s contractual agreements. This role also includes managing any audits of those contractual arrangements carried out by third party audit firms to safeguard the integrity of agency data and other proprietary information. The GCM is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of an effective and efficient compliance program globally in conjunction with the Global Compliance Team, consistent with the global framework, proactively auditing processes, practices and documents, training employees, and supporting in the management advise on possible risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Contract Compliance Assurance: Work in the team of the Global Chief Compliance Officer (GCCO) from our London office. Work with the Global Compliance Directors (GCD), and Mediabrands’ Client Finance and Legal Teams to understand global client contracts in a consistent manner and support the driving of the communication and alignment process with Account Leads and Finance Teams to ensure obligations and risk are understood and deliverables timetabled for each client. Work in the delivery of the Audit Protocols, as well as its development, to ensure transparency across all our clients. Test and review key risk areas of our client obligations, such as e.g. Annual Volume Rebates, Unbilled Media and Client Credit to support on the fulfilment of our client obligations.
- Audit Management: Work with GCD to develop and implement Mediabrands wide audit protocols, outlining audit approach and key steps for all audits with a clear definition of roles and responsibilities across financial, legal, media, IT/data, client teams and other relevant stakeholders. Specific focus required to support how our client audits are currently being structured and managed, as well as supporting the local teams in the delivery of the information to third party auditors. Work with GCD to develop an audit repository by market/client and contains reports from each audit. The aim being to build a repository of learnings and precedents agreed by client and auditor. Issuance of common problems / audit hotspots report directed to various internal stakeholders.
How we work day-to-day
The role is full time permanent position working five days a week. This role sits in the UK but on a day-to-day basis we work with our colleagues who are based in the countries we operate in across US, EMEA, LATAM and APAC. Hybrid working from our London office and homebased.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of Contract Management and Financial Contract Compliance practices in the media planning and buying industry.
- Familiarity with media industry practices, related legal / contractual Client and Media Agency requirements, associated controls and professional standards.
- Fluency in English, any additional languages preferred.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, combined with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and discretion.
- Skills to determine when and to whom to share confidential information and insights.
- The ability to demonstrate sound judgment, integrity and professional ethics.
