ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Group Director, Planning you are at the forefront of bringing the next generation of planning to life. Understanding key Brand and business objectives and delivering against these. You will have end-to-end responsibility for media plans, digital plans and activations and ensure there are processes in place to continuously optimise and drive efficiencies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fame & Flow Planning
- Working with craft leaders within Initiative and the wider group to elevate and evolve an integrated plan
- Develop best in class planning solutions for our clients across the clients entire ecosystem
- Has the ability to see connection opportunities and ideas immediately within briefs
- Use data to identify the best channels and support planning solutions
- Team Development
- Responsible for working with Comms Design Directors to develop the team on planning tools, techniques, full funnel integration and templates
- Support, nurture and develop immediate team and junior Comms Design talent to become the best planners in the industry, collaborating with the wider business
- Industry Knowledge
- Responsible for POV’s on industry changes/news and outlining impact on clients
- Understand and shows curiosity on channel trends to identify the impact on clients
- Agency Development
- Participation in New Business
- Involved in relevant dept projects
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Extensive experience in integrated planning role in media, publisher/vendor, or communications discipline (digital, content);
- Have proven experience and expertise in strategic media planning across the funnel and the digital mix;
- Have some historical digital buying experience (optional)
- Hold excellent knowledge of the global media landscape and put the consumer experience at the heart of activities and decisions
- A courageous leader and collaborator who can envision and energise large cross-functional teams and drive effective media owner relationships;
- Can demonstrate strong strategic and analytical thinking to assess and recommend opportunities;
- Have people management experience and a passion for developing others;
- Have mastery with media planning tools such as TGI, GWI, Facebook Campaign Planner etc;
- Have some experience with digital buying platforms such as Google Adwords, DV360, Facebook Ads Manager, a Demand Side platform such as The Trade Desk (optional)
