Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Editor role based in Maidstone. The Editor will manage the end-to-end editorial process for print and digital content, including planning, commissioning, and scheduling articles and features. Day-to-day responsibilities include editing and proofreading copy for clarity, accuracy, tone, and style, as well as ensuring all content aligns with client objectives and brand guidelines. The Editor will collaborate closely with writers, designers, sales, and account teams to deliver engaging membership and community-focused content on time and within brief. The role also involves managing editorial calendars, overseeing content workflows, providing constructive feedback to contributors, and monitoring performance metrics to refine content approaches.
Qualifications
- Strong core editorial skills, including copy editing, proofreading, and headline writing, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience in content planning and production, including managing editorial calendars, commissioning content, and coordinating with internal and external contributors.
- Ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and formats (print, digital, email, social) within B2B and B2C environments.
- Competence using common publishing and collaboration tools (e.g., CMS platforms, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, project management tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback and build positive relationships across teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Relevant experience in media, publishing, marketing, or communications; prior work with membership or community organizations is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
