My client is a specialist B2B media and business intelligence publisher within the Business, Finance & Governance sectors. Due to increasing demand, a new role for a Senior Reporter with an AI focus has been created.
Role Summary:
- The senior reporter (content & events) will be responsible for reporting on the latest developments affecting their audiences, moderating events and webinars, and producing editorial content on the discussions.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the frequency and quality of their output and for building the systems that allow a small team to produce timely, error-free editorial content to a high standard.
- Ideally, the person will have knowledge of AI and automation to improve their systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Covering the latest industry developments.
- Research, analyse, write and edit high-quality copy every day, across concise updates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our community and editorial board to ensure coverage remains relevant to the evolving needs of our audience.
- Exercise editorial judgment and review content to ensure everything produced is publishable, error-free and credible.
- Review and edit the work of colleagues and external expert contributors, bringing it up to publication standard.
- Obtain quotes and insights from respected sources.
- Manage automation, artificial intelligence and editorial systems.
- Implement systems that improve the efficiency and quality of reporting.
- Build, pilot, run, train and fine-tune tools used to assist editorial output.
- Develop and own the editorial policy governing the use of artificial intelligence.
- Apply understanding of AI-mediated search and answer engine optimisation (AEO) to grow visibility and readership while protecting subscription revenues.
- Plan and moderate webinars end to end, including proposing topics, recruiting speakers, preparing questions, running sessions, and filing follow-up articles.
- Moderate in-person events, including international travel.
- Conduct and present video interviews with senior figures and host content across formats.
- Produce one long-form video interview each month, known as a ‘masterclass’.
- Conduct video interviews and vox pops at award events to showcase award winners.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Three or more years’ experience in journalism, including B2B or trade media.
- Superior writing and editing skills, with strong storytelling and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience moderating events and interviewing senior leaders.
- Practical media law knowledge and experience in overseeing published materials.
- Demonstrable AI fluency and experience in building AI tools for editorial work.
- A genuine interest in artificial intelligence and its role in publishing.
- The ability to work well independently and as part of a small team.
- Sound editorial judgment that can be explained and defended.
