My client is a specialist B2B media and business intelligence publisher within the Business, Finance & Governance sectors. Due to increasing demand, a new role for a Senior Reporter with an AI focus has been created.
The senior reporter (content & events) will be responsible for:
- Reporting on the latest developments affecting their audiences.
- Moderating events and webinars.
- Producing editorial content on the discussions.
- Improving the frequency and quality of their output.
- Building the systems that allow a small team to produce timely, error-free editorial content to a high standard.
Ideally, the person will have knowledge of AI and automation to improve their systems and processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching, analysing, writing, and editing high-quality copy every day, across concise updates.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with our community and editorial board to ensure coverage remains relevant to the evolving needs of our audience.
- Exercising editorial judgment and reviewing content to ensure everything produced is publishable, error-free, and credible.
- Reviewing and editing the work of colleagues and external expert contributors, bringing it up to publication standard.
- Managing automation, artificial intelligence, and editorial systems.
- Implementing systems that improve the efficiency and quality of reporting from monitoring developments and drafting copy to automating outreach.
- Developing and owning the editorial policy governing the use of artificial intelligence, including its permitted uses, prohibited uses, disclosure standards, and accountability.
Live journalism responsibilities include:
- Moderating in-person events, including international travel, across formats such as one-day conferences, half-day workshops, and award evenings.
- Conducting and presenting video interviews with senior figures and hosting content across various formats, including podcasts.
- Producing one long-form video interview each month, known as a ‘masterclass’, providing subscribers with deep insights to help them in their roles.
- Conducting video interviews and vox pops at award events to showcase award winners.
Requirements:
- Three or more years’ experience in journalism, including B2B or trade media.
- Superior writing and editing skills, with strong storytelling, a keen eye for detail, and a record of producing clean, error-free copy to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience moderating events and interviewing senior leaders.
- Practical media law knowledge and experience in overseeing published materials.
- Demonstrable AI fluency and experience in building AI tools for editorial work.
- A genuine interest in artificial intelligence and its role in publishing.
