My client is a long-standing and trusted provider of large-scale, international networking events, memberships and news covering the complete digital infrastructure ecosystem. A new role has been created for an experienced Event Director.
Role Summary: The Event Director leads the end-to-end strategy and delivery of 1–2 strategically significant events, driving commercial performance, aligning all functions around a coherent event vision. You will manage and mentor a team of producers and work cross-functionally with content, marketing, operations, and sales leaders to deliver world-class event experiences.
- Events Leadership & Strategy: Lead product strategy for a defined event within the portfolio. Conduct extensive research, analyse data, competitive landscapes, addressable market, identifying trends and opportunities. Translate portfolio objectives into actionable plans for each event — including value proposition, audience growth, feature innovation, and brand positioning. Shape the overall roadmap and identify new opportunities for event launches.
- Commercial & Performance Ownership: Work with commercial and marketing leads to define pricing, sponsorship packaging, and strategies. Track performance metrics. Project manage the full delivery of your events. Inspire and influence your project team to work towards the same targets, objectives and milestones.
- Product Development & Innovation: Secure key speakers from the digital infrastructure landscape. Identify and form key partnerships with influential stakeholders. Identify and pilot new product features — such as advisory councils, awards, innovation showcases, and digital matchmaking tools.
- Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct ongoing market analysis to track industry trends, and audience needs. Create segmented engagement strategies and adapt content to cross-channel campaigns. Originate and curate high quality content to fuel marketing campaigns.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor senior conference producers, providing mentoring and development. Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration and commercial accountability. Work closely with Content, Marketing, Operations, and Sales leaders to define strategy.
Experience Required: 8+ years’ experience in B2B events, media, or community-led businesses, including 4+ years in a large-scale event leadership position. Proven success of leading 3000+ person events. Proven ability to grow event brands commercially and strategically.
