About the IPA
The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) is the trade body and professional institute for the UK's advertising, media and marketing communications agencies. We represent agencies of all sizes, from independents to global networks, providing training, standards, and support that help the industry attract, develop and retain talent, while championing the effectiveness and value of advertising to clients, government and the wider public.
Our work spans professional development and qualifications, industry benchmarking and best practice, and negotiation on behalf of member agencies with media owners and research bodies. Central to this is IPA TouchPoints, our flagship media consumption survey and the industry's benchmark source for understanding UK audience behaviour across media channels, used by agencies, media owners and clients to plan and evaluate campaigns. Joining the IPA’s research team means working at the heart of this data and the wider Joint Industry Currency ecosystem, collaborating with senior practitioners across agencies and shaping the research that underpins how the sector plans and measures media.
