An independent conference producer, specialised in the European Energy sector. They create, promote and deliver high quality technical conferences for the smart grid engineering community. Their mission is to Drive Clean Energy .
They are currently scaling the business from 8 staff and 6 events, to 15 staff and 20 events by March 2020. They have a unique market position, a strong product value proposition and a high repeat business rate.
The Role of Senior Conference Producer
Our client is searching for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and energetic Senior Conference Producer to work with their Head of Production in launching a number of new training, conference and Cβlevel programmes for the smart grid engineering community. With a solid track record in content-led conference production for the technology markets, you will build on your skillset with leadership training to help you progress to team leadership within 6-12 months.
- Research β carrying out in-depth phone research with senior technical representatives of the community and interpreting the results into commercially compelling conference programmes
- Speaker acquisition β identifying, profiling and inviting influential technical decision makers and specialists from the community and maintaining long term relationships
- Copy writing β writing promotional copy in the form of weekly newsletters, website copy, brochure copy, press releases and advertising copy, to drive awareness of the events and stimulate bookings
- Sales & marketing β thoroughly briefing the sales and marketing teams and monitoring campaign progress to ensure revenue targets are met
- Onsite delivery β working with the event logistics team to ensure flawless onsite delivery of the events
- P&L management β monitoring campaign revenues and costs and ensuring that targets are met and profit margins are delivered
- Productivity management β meeting all project deadlines to ensure the annual target of 6 events per producer is delivered
- Mentoring β mentoring graduate conference producers to assist them in developing their skillset and mindset
Requirements for this Senior Conference Producer position
- 2:1 degree or higher in a Technology/Engineering/Business related subject
- 4+ years conference production experience in a technology market
- Strong intellect, with the ability to switch between analytical and creative thinking
- Impactful communication; able to influence and persuade senior decision makers in written and oral form
- Insightful problem solving; able to foresee project hurdles and implement solutions to meet project deadlines
- Resilience; thrives in a high-pressure, deadline driven, target focused environment
