The Company
A multi-award winning media planning and buying agency who specialise in helping small consumer challenger brands with high growth potential to realise that potential. They have helped the likes of Confused.com, Moonpig and many others to grow from a relatively unknown brand to a household name through carefully crafted, data driven marketing campaigns across (primarily) TV, radio, press and out of home. They have been working with some of their clients for 9+ years which is very rare in the current media agency world (especially with challenger brands). They have a friendly, customer-focused and collaborative culture delivering their clients a significant and measurable uplift in ROI. Uniquely they are an employee-owned business (much like John Lewis) and therefore every member of the team has a chance to influence the agency's direction. They have around 20 employees and currently bill over £75m in annual revenue.
The role of Business Development Manager
As Business Development Manager you will be 100% new business focused. With the help and guidance of the senior leadership team, as well as your own research, you will engage with small, high growth-potential challenger brands with the aim of presenting the company's credentials and ultimately winning new campaigns. Once the client business has been won, you will pass over to the internal account management and insights and analytics teams to then deliver the agreed strategy. This is not the usual "phone bashing" new business position. It requires a more considered, intelligent and consultative approach. Sometimes clients may take many months to convert into clients. You will be selling both face to face and over the phone.

- 4-8 years new business media sales experience
- Strong new business legacy
