We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join the finance team of a leading agency group.

This is a highly commercial role, partnering closely with Client Services and senior stakeholders to drive profitability, revenue performance and financial control across a portfolio of clients.

This is a 6 months temp role with potential to become perm!!!

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the commercial finance agenda, providing insight and challenge across revenue, WIP, job profitability, recoverability and working capital.

Transactional finance and monthly reporting is done by a group finance, allowing you to focus on business partnering, commercial analysis and improving financial performance.

You will act as a key finance partner to Client Services, helping teams understand the financial performance of their clients and projects and challenging where necessary to improve commercial outcomes.

  • Take ownership of revenue forecasting and recognition across the division.
  • Lead regular revenue reviews, analysing time versus revenue and challenging significant variances.
  • Partner with Client Services on SOWs, scoping, pricing, recoverability and profitability.
  • Lead regular recoverability reviews, identifying risks and driving actions through to resolution.
  • Own the WIP process, ensuring third-party costs are accurately captured, reconciled and billed promptly.
  • Analyse estimated versus actual project costs, identifying overspends and commercial risks early.
  • Lead WIP reviews with Client Services and provide clear recommendations to financial challenges.
  • Oversee billing and ensure revenue and costs are appropriately recognised.
  • Review client profitability and utilisation, providing meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Support resource forecasting and broader commercial planning.
  • Monitor working capital, particularly aged WIP and debtors, working with Group Finance Team to resolve issues.
  • Provide regular commercial reporting and analysis to the FC, FD and wider leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and commercial performance.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to the business rather than simply reporting the numbers.
  • Mentoring Revenue Accountants

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident with stakeholders and comfortable challenging the business.

You may currently be a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst looking for the next step, or already operating at FBP / Commercial Finance Manager level.

We need someone full of ideas eager to make a change and add value daily!

Ideally, you will have

  • 3+ years' commercial finance experience, preferably within an agency, media, marketing or other project-based environment.
  • Strong experience across revenue recognition, WIP, profitability and job/project accounting.
  • Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders and influencing commercial decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the confidence to investigate and challenge financial performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, commercially focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified or actively studying towards a professional qualification.
