Purpose of the Role

As Media Experts Limited accelerates its growth trajectory, we are seeking a Marketing & Communications Director to establish, lead, and scale our marketing and communications function. This is a strategic leadership role with the authority to build and shape the entire marketing capability from inception. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO and working as a key member of the leadership team, you will define and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that establishes Media Experts Limited as the preeminent partner for sports and entertainment media organisations across the UK, Europe, and Africa. You will drive brand positioning, lead generation, client development, and thought leadership initiatives that directly contribute to commercial growth. This role offers exceptional autonomy, strategic influence, and the opportunity to build a high‑performing marketing team while working at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and media on a global scale.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Define and execute the global marketing and communications strategy aligned with business priorities and long‑term vision.
  • Build the marketing function from the ground up, establishing infrastructure, processes, technology stack, and governance frameworks.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and demonstrable ROI.
  • Contribute to executive decision‑making and strategic planning as a member of the leadership team.
  • Brand & Thought Leadership
    • Own and evolve the Media Experts Limited brand, positioning the company as a market and thought leader in sports and entertainment media.
    • Develop and oversee content strategy including case studies, white papers, industry analysis, and executive thought leadership.
    • Lead digital strategy across website, social media, and emerging platforms to maximise reach and engagement.
    • Direct public relations, media engagement, and high‑profile speaking opportunities for senior leadership.
  • Commercial Growth & Business Development
    • Lead account‑based marketing strategies targeting key prospects in the sports and entertainment media sector.
    • Drive demand generation and lead nurturing programmes that build a high‑quality pipeline.
    • Develop compelling proposals, pitch materials, and client presentations that win new business.
    • Support corporate partnership development and sponsor relationship management at senior levels.
    • Collaborate closely with the CEO on strategic client relationships and high‑value opportunities.
    • Represent Media Experts Limited at industry events, conferences, and senior networking forums.
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with industry stakeholders, media partners, agencies, and potential clients.
    • Translate market intelligence, competitive insights, and emerging trends into actionable strategies.
    • Develop regional market strategies for UK, European, and African markets with tailored approaches.
  • Team Development
    • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing marketing team as the function scales.
    • Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and specialist partners.

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Progressive senior marketing leadership experience, ideally within media, sports, entertainment, or professional services sectors.
    • Demonstrated success in sales and business development, with proven ability to contribute to commercial growth.
    • Deep expertise in African markets with established networks and understanding of regional dynamics.
    • Significant experience in UK and European markets with strong industry relationships.
    • Proven track record in corporate partnerships, client relationship management, and account‑based marketing.
    • Extensive experience in the media and communications industry, including content distribution, broadcasting, rights management, and media monetisation.
    • CIM qualification or equivalent professional marketing certification required.
    • Higher education degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
    • MBA or equivalent postgraduate business qualification is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and Europe, with periodic travel to African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern and US markets.
    • Outstanding communication and influencing ability, including executive‑level presentation skills.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build from scratch and drive results autonomously.
    • Strategic thinker with a track record of leveraging emerging technologies and evolving marketing models.

    Base Salary: £60,000 per annum

    Performance‑Based Bonus: Up to £10,000
