This is a role for a reporter who wants to break news and build authority on one of the more technical, and consequential, beats in financial journalism.

Commodities underpin the world economy, and the financing behind them is where the market intelligence sits.
You would cover the mechanisms that fund physical and financial commodity trade, from structured trade finance to the institutions driving it: investment and commercial banks, commodity trading houses, hedge funds, insurers, and regulators.
The editorial team has global reach and a client base of leading financial institutions, commodity firms, and professional services firms who read to stay ahead of the market.
You would have the autonomy to develop your own sources and set the agenda, with the platform and support to make your name on the beat.
Key responsibilities
- Produce monthly features alongside proprietary news and deal‑focused pieces that put clients ahead of the market.
- Support the annual industry survey and data reports, and help shape the commodities data product.
- Work with the events team on conferences, and chair panels.
- Key requirements
- A self‑directed journalist with a track record of cultivating and developing sources.
- Experience covering the institutions active in commodity finance: investment and commercial banks, trading houses, hedge funds, insurers, and regulators.
