As News Editor, you will work closely with the media team to shape daily coverage across two brands, with a particular emphasis on payments and financial technology. You will lead the newsroom agenda, manage reporters, and contribute to the evolution of both the editorial proposition and the events programme. Longer term, the position offers scope to develop into an editorial leadership role as the portfolio continues to grow.
We are looking for a journalist or editor with a strong grounding in payments, fintech or adjacent financial services, who combines sharp news judgement with the confidence to lead others and engage across the business.
Key responsibilities- Own and shape the daily news agenda across two specialist B2B titles, with final sign-off on coverage and priorities
- Edit, commission and line-manage reporters, maintaining high editorial standards and commercial relevance
- Write and commission longer-form analysis alongside the daily news flow
- Work collaboratively with events and conference teams to help shape agendas, identify speakers and support podcasts and live formats
- Experience reporting or editing within payments, fintech, crypto or related financial services sectors
- Demonstrated ability to make editorial decisions and manage other journalists’ output
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, commercial B2B environment
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for what matters to a professional audience
