We are looking to hire a senior recruitment consultant for our team that focuses on recruiting for media owners, business intelligence providers and IT firms, filling commercial roles such as sales, marketing and conference production from trainee to director level. This is our longest‑serving team that has exclusive relationships with some of its clients and is often given vacancies that none of our competitors have access to.
At Media Contacts we strongly value relationships and face‑to‑face interaction, with team members having attended business events in New York, Washington and Amsterdam in the past year as well as sponsoring and attending networking events and awards in London. We are very much global in our outlook, with recent placements made in the Caribbean, Japan, South Africa and mainland Europe.

The senior recruitment consultant role is pivotal to the success of Media Contacts, driving revenue and delivering excellent service to both clients and candidates. It is a 360‑degree recruitment role and each senior recruitment consultant is given their own part of the business to take control of and grow. As a senior recruitment consultant you will also get involved in strategy, marketing, staff training and development and contributing ideas to continually enhance our offering. We operate on a meritocratic basis, enabling you to take charge of your own destiny and a combination of your own endeavour and the support of the management and your colleagues can drive you along a career path to becoming a manager or even a director of the business.
- Establish yourself as the go‑to recruiter in your sector for both candidates and clients.
- Manage the full 360 recruitment process providing best in class service.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry leaders in the UK and internationally.
- Consistently network with clients and candidates, in‑person as well as over the phone.
- Help mentor more junior team members, working collaboratively and supporting success across the wider business.
- Growing your desk and book of business, both through growth of current accounts and new business activity.
- Develop thought leadership content and advisory notes for clients.
Requirements:
- Track record of exceeding financial targets in a recruitment agency setting (relevant or complimentary sector experience desired but not essential).
- Ability to hold detailed client conversations and with confidence.
- Confident in interviewing candidates working at C‑suite and Board level positions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience of driving business growth (inc. growth in existing accounts and gaining new clients).
- Confident in sourcing and pitching for new business.
