MedGen is looking for compassionate and dedicated mental health care assistants to provide essential care and support for people with diverse needs. This role involves working closely with children/adolescents in care, those with disabilities, or those requiring emotional and behavioural support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional, social, and practical support to children in care.
  • Assist with daily activities, including personal care, education, and recreational activities.
  • Work closely with families, carers, and healthcare professionals to ensure children's well-being.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Help children develop essential life skills and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding policies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a healthcare assistant with children who have mental health needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child welfare practices.
  • Ability to provide a clinical reference.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • In date PMVA training (or willingness to do one).
