About the role:
- Implement and develop the Community Strategy as part of the identified campaigns and workload assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of our Engagement Strategy.
- Attend and participate in major and minor engagement events and coordinate media activity.
- Coordinate and facilitate media responses and liaise with relevant personnel in relation to complaints or engagement events.
- Offer advice and support in dealing with complaints including meeting with complainants to help deliver timely and effective resolutions.
- Monitor and manage all social media accounts associated with the contract.
- Support learning from complaints and offer advice for positive operational change.
- Create a stakeholder listing to be provided to service users.
- Organise, promote and support engagement events locally.
- Establish and lead a new service user group.
- Create and produce press releases and features to the media in relation to the engagement events.
- Communicate the Engagement Strategy to existing staff, volunteers and service users, engaging all in the delivery of activities.
- Communicate the contract message including Service Delivery processes and procedures, to all stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of changes within the sector and ensure that the engagement activities are modern and engaging.

Qualifications and experience required:
- Recognised experience in a communications or engagement related setting is essential.
- Lived experience (in relation to Wheelchair Services), working knowledge of social and medical models of disability, and how they would impact on the delivery of this type of service.
- Experience of planning and decision making.
- Experience of working on/with management/advisor groups.
- Experience working within a Healthcare setting or an understanding of NHS commissioned contracts desired but not essential.
