About the role

As the Engineering Team Leader for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will ensure all equipment is tested & repaired in line with LOLER and PAT, as well as other regulations to the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets. Tasks will be carried out in our In‑house Workshop area.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work safely while meeting daily repair and service targets.
  • Reduce equipment in repair status through efficient in‑house maintenance.
  • Identify faulty or damaged stock and decide on repair or replacement.
  • Ensure all stock control and accountability processes are followed, including regular stock and spare parts checks.
  • Maintain workshop organisation, safe equipment storage, and high housekeeping standards.
  • Use scanners to manage stock, record repair progress, and support depot communication.
  • Adhere to health & safety, manual handling, and hazardous substance guidelines.
  • Train and support new starters and engineers, ensuring competence within probation.
  • Attend management meetings and support other departments as needed.
  • Lead by example, meet or exceed KPIs, and prioritise workload to achieve service targets.
  • Report near misses or safeguarding concerns promptly to management.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade C or above.
  • Minimum 1 year in a public, healthcare, or service‑based industry.
  • Background in equipment servicing or maintenance (desirable).
