A Careline Responder is based at home and responds to calls from our clients - who press their buttons on their alarm units, which automatically comes through to our own friendly Emergency Response Centre. From there, our operators contact the nearest Careline Responder who goes to assess the situation and assist the client or get assistance from the emergency services if a client is injured; this is a role that benefits from people’s life skills.

About the role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- To make immediate response to alarm calls and make prompt attendance, assessing the care and support needs of people at risk and to provide or facilitate appropriate support.
- Dealing with maintenance and installing alarm equipment at clients’ premises and explaining how the equipment/alarm works.
- To undertake ‘last resort’ personal care when on a call-out should it be needed to maintain the client’s dignity.
- To assist with the promotion of the service in local communities.

Qualifications and experience required:
- Genuine empathy for the welfare of elderly adults, this role will suit you.
- Based within Workington surrounding area.
- Full UK driving licence, and some access to an appropriately insured and taxed vehicle for business use.
- No specific experience is necessary, only a responsible and caring nature and a flexible approach.
