About the role
We’re looking for a Data Team Lead to take ownership of our data services across the Medequip group (including Rosscare and Consolor). This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, overseeing a small team and ensuring high‑quality, reliable data is available to support operational performance, strategic decisions, and compliance obligations.
Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Data Operations & Management
- Lead the day‑to‑day activities of the data team, including tickets, change requests, and reporting tasks.
- Manage data refresh cycles, performance tuning, and SQL Server uptime.
- Ensure reporting continuity across Medequip, Rosscare, and Consolor.
- Oversee Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and performance metrics.
- Review and approve complex DAX, SQL, and Power Query logic.
- Support and promote self‑service analytics with reusable datasets and models.
- Data Governance & Quality
- Define data standards, naming conventions, validation rules, and documentation practices.
- Work with data owners to cleanse poor‑quality data and build proactive quality controls.
- Strategic Contribution
- Shape future data architecture, warehousing, and integration strategies.
- Collaborate with 3rd parties and internal IT on APIs, ETL, and structured data flows.
- Support system changes, contract migrations, and new service integrations.

Qualifications and experience required
- 5+ years in data‑focused roles, ideally in complex environments
- Strong SQL Server and T‑SQL experience, including performance tuning
- Proven delivery of data warehouse/reporting solutions
- Understanding of secure handling of sensitive data (e.g. patient or contract data)
Key Technologies & Tools
- BI Tools: Power BI, DAX, Paginated Reports, Excel Power Pivot
- Data Sources: TCES, Sage, bespoke systems
- Scripting (advantageous): Python, PowerShell, R
