About the role

We’re looking for a Data Team Lead to take ownership of our data services across the Medequip group (including Rosscare and Consolor). This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, overseeing a small team and ensuring high‑quality, reliable data is available to support operational performance, strategic decisions, and compliance obligations.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Data Operations & Management
    • Lead the day‑to‑day activities of the data team, including tickets, change requests, and reporting tasks.
    • Manage data refresh cycles, performance tuning, and SQL Server uptime.
    • Ensure reporting continuity across Medequip, Rosscare, and Consolor.
    • Oversee Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and performance metrics.
    • Review and approve complex DAX, SQL, and Power Query logic.
    • Support and promote self‑service analytics with reusable datasets and models.
  • Data Governance & Quality
    • Define data standards, naming conventions, validation rules, and documentation practices.
    • Work with data owners to cleanse poor‑quality data and build proactive quality controls.
  • Strategic Contribution
    • Shape future data architecture, warehousing, and integration strategies.
    • Collaborate with 3rd parties and internal IT on APIs, ETL, and structured data flows.
    • Support system changes, contract migrations, and new service integrations.

Qualifications and experience required

  • 5+ years in data‑focused roles, ideally in complex environments
  • Strong SQL Server and T‑SQL experience, including performance tuning
  • Proven delivery of data warehouse/reporting solutions
  • Understanding of secure handling of sensitive data (e.g. patient or contract data)

Key Technologies & Tools

  • BI Tools: Power BI, DAX, Paginated Reports, Excel Power Pivot
  • Data Sources: TCES, Sage, bespoke systems
  • Scripting (advantageous): Python, PowerShell, R
