About the role:
As the Warehouse Specials Coordinator for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will be responsible for ensuring the quality control, management, and efficient reuse of all new and recycled special (non-standard) community equipment. You’ll help maximise reuse, ensure compliance with service specifications, and act as a central point of contact for prescribers, commissioners, manufacturers, and internal teams.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Liaise with the warehouse team to check new special equipment orders and ensure all parts are complete, following up with suppliers for any missing components.
- Photograph, template, and accurately upload non-stock equipment to the online catalogue with correct descriptions and categories.
- Maintain accurate stock control for all recycled special items and ensure correct storage locations.
- Work closely with prescribers and occupational therapists to advise on equipment options.
- Provide guidance, advice, and training to internal teams on non-standard equipment.
- Assess recycled specials to ensure they are fit for reuse and meet required standards before reissue.
- Manage repair processes for both new and recycled specials, checking warranties and available replacements.
- Inspect and prepare returned recycled items, ensuring they are clean, safe, and fit for purpose.
- Support with occasional deliveries and collections, including site visits.
- Adhere to company procedures for scrap and hazardous equipment disposal, maintaining full compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Uphold Medequip’s processes for stock accountability and maintain high standards of housekeeping in the warehouse.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all work is carried out safely and responsibly.

Qualifications and experience:
- At least 1 year’s experience in a public, healthcare, or service-based role.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- IT literate and comfortable using digital devices.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage your workload and work unsupervised.
- Physically capable of manual handling and lifting (reasonable adjustments always considered).
- Team player with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
- Experience in equipment management, warehousing, or assistive technology environments.
