As a Quality Engineer you’ll operate within cross-functional teams to deliver quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle, from design and trials to production. You’ll apply quality methods, tools, and techniques to support programmes and ensure high-integrity products meet standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide technical quality support to internal/external stakeholders and programme teams.
- Work collaboratively within project teams and across functions to ensure quality is represented at all stages of delivery.
- Apply quality control, inspection, certification and grading practices (e.g., QC1, inspection techniques, metrology).
- Support non-conformance management including problem reporting and corrective/preventive action.
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, technical reviews, audits and defect panels.
- Maintain and enhance your own quality knowledge and skills to support current and future work.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality capability.
Essential / Desirable (varies by posting):
- QE with hands-on experience is essential.
- Experience in quality control, quality management systems and inspection techniques (micrometers, gauges, CMMs, etc.).
- Knowledge of non-conformance management (e.g., 8D problem solving) and continuous improvement principles.
- Understanding of product certification, lifecycle management, and documentation control.
- Experience with Lean / Six Sigma, quality planning and auditing approaches is a plus.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.
- Manufacturing / engineering background or equivalent is often preferred.
Working Conditions
- 5 Day Week
- Work is predominantly on site, given the secure and classified nature of the business.
- Must be eligible/or obtained UK Security Clearance.
