As a Quality Engineer you’ll operate within cross-functional teams to deliver quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle, from design and trials to production. You’ll apply quality methods, tools, and techniques to support programmes and ensure high-integrity products meet standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide technical quality support to internal/external stakeholders and programme teams.
  • Work collaboratively within project teams and across functions to ensure quality is represented at all stages of delivery.
  • Apply quality control, inspection, certification and grading practices (e.g., QC1, inspection techniques, metrology).
  • Support non-conformance management including problem reporting and corrective/preventive action.
  • Participate in, and sometimes lead, technical reviews, audits and defect panels.
  • Maintain and enhance your own quality knowledge and skills to support current and future work.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality capability.

Essential / Desirable (varies by posting)

  • QE with hands-on experience is essential.
  • Experience in quality control, quality management systems and inspection techniques (micrometers, gauges, CMMs, etc.).
  • Knowledge of non-conformance management (e.g., 8D problem solving) and continuous improvement principles.
  • Understanding of product certification, lifecycle management, and documentation control.
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma, quality planning and auditing approaches is a plus.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.
  • Manufacturing / engineering background or equivalent is often preferred.

Working Conditions

  • ~5 Day Week
  • ~ Work is predominantly on site, given the secure and classified nature of the business.
  • ~ Must be eligible/or obtained UK Security Clearance.
