About the Role
Medaxis Talent is currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Children's Residential Workers to support residential childcare services in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people by providing high-quality care, emotional support, and safeguarding within a residential setting. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
- Promote the welfare, safety, and well-being of all young people.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, social activities, and life skills.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and organisational policies at all times.
- Manage challenging behaviours appropriately and professionally.
- Support children through emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Participate in handovers, team meetings, and training sessions as required.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold the following qualifications and training certificates. These requirements are mandatory and non-negotiable.

- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Essential)
- Mandatory Training
- Safeguarding Level 3
- Medication Administration Level 2
- Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE) Training
- PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) – No alternatives accepted
- Self-Harm Awareness (including Ligature Training)
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
- Commitment to delivering person-centred care and support.
