About the Role

Medaxis Talent is currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Children's Residential Workers to support residential childcare services in Ipswich. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Promote the welfare, safety, and well-being of all young people.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Support young people with daily routines, education, social activities, and life skills.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and organisational policies at all times.
  • Manage challenging behaviours appropriately and professionally.
  • Support children through emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Participate in handovers, team meetings, and training sessions as required.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold the following qualifications and training certificates. These requirements are mandatory and non-negotiable.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Essential)

Mandatory Training

  • Safeguarding Level 3
  • Medication Administration Level 2
  • Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE) Training
  • PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) – No alternatives accepted
  • Self-Harm Awareness (including Ligature Training)

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centred care and support.
