Medacs Healthcare are working closely with MPFT to provide support to HMP Hewell.
Full Time Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
MUST HAVE Prison Clearance and Driving Licence. Start as soon as possible for 12 weeks. Location: HMP Hewell, Redditch.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provision of mental health interventions to Service Users within the prison establishment across wellbeing, primary and secondary mental health.
- Responsible for managing their own caseload, including assessments, care planning, delivering interventions and reviewing care of patients located within the prison with a mental illness, within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Care Programme Approach.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced based interventions required including health promotion within a prison environment.
- Provide a nursing service to prisoners taking account of cultural and spiritual beliefs/needs.
- Responsible for the appropriate risk assessment of service users, providing effective advice, guidance and decision making process.
- Responsible for coordinating the care and assessment under the care coordination approach.
- Ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatment including the custody storage and administration of drugs.
- Participate in the setting of quality standards, including auditing, monitoring and reviewing of clinical practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
