Rate: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Start Date: Asap

The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with respiratory disease. The appointee may not be expected to have any on call commitment to acute paediatric medicine, which is subject to discussion. There is currently no subspecialty on-call cover included in this post, although a more regional approach may be developed in the future.

  • Clinics: The appointee is expected to participate in three clinics per week. Apart from the Monday CF clinic, this includes two respiratory clinics - 1x MDT Respiratory (Wednesday) and 1x under-5 clinic. These can be reconfigured at discretion of the department in keeping with the applicant's special interests and service needs.
  • Attendance at Respiratory MDT and regional difficult asthma MDT meetings.
  • Attendance for providing respiratory input at the cerebral palsy MDT organised jointly with the community Trust.
  • Reporting sleep studies (home oximetry's and capnography's) and home cardiorespiratory polygraphies for CEWS patients.
  • Inpatient respiratory consultations and twice weekly inpatient respiratory ward rounds.
  • Answering respiratory clinical queries as well as reviewing results of investigations requested by the respiratory team.
  • Contribute to departmental medical, nursing, AHP and GP training and teaching.
  • Contribute to UEA teaching for the relevant respiratory medicine modules.
  • To contribute to the further development of sleep study services and respiratory physiology services at NNUH.
  • Provide clinical supervision respiratory trainees attached to the respiratory team and our respiratory associate specialist doctor.
  • Actively contribute to quality improvement activities including audit, guideline development, participation in respiratory network activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • MRCPCH
  • Respiratory paeds experience (2 years CF exposure ideal)
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
  • UK Right to Work
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
