Medacs Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the Broomfield Hospital team. As a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients with various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, eating disorders, paranoia, psychosis, schizophrenia, and more. Your responsibilities will include forming trusting relationships with patients, monitoring their physical and mental health, administering medications, and offering emotional support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored support plans for patients based on their specific diagnosis.
- Arrange ongoing, long-term support for patients\’ post-care.
- Build trusting relationships with patients, offering advice and reassurance.
- Collaborate with doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, and social workers to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Advise relatives and carers on patient conditions, treatment, and progress.
- Keep medical records up to date.
- Conduct standard physical health checks and administer medications.
- Discuss available therapies, support networks, and social activities to improve mental health and wellbeing.
- Manage workloads and shift patterns.
- Promote mental health initiatives and reduce stigma associated with mental health.
- Stay updated with mental health best practices and theories.
Essential Qualifications
- NMC Registration.
- At least 2 years post-graduate experience.
- 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.
- The ability to pass an enhanced background check.
